Photos can appear brighter on device screens than in print. We recommend that you choose well-lit, high-resolution photos for your designs. And if you have issues with low-resolution photos, try troubleshooting blurry photos.
Avoid dark photos
To ensure your printed photos look their best:
- Choose photos taken in well-lit environments
- Select gloss finish instead of matte. See the difference between matte and gloss finishes
- Edit the brightness of your photos on your device before uploading them to the app
- Choose a light-coloured theme in your design. You can also change the colour of your front cover without changing the other pages
Note Black-and-white photos are more prone to overly dark printing than colour photos.
Dark photos caused by manufacturing issues
If you believe your printed design contains dark photos because of a manufacturing error, please contact our customer service team to request a reprint.
