The differences between matte and gloss finishes

Your Popsa products are printed in either a matte or gloss finish. For Photobooks, Photobooklets and Calendars, our premium option is gloss, which uses ultra-HD gloss technology. When you create your design, a gloss finish will be selected by default (if available).

If your device supports it, you can explore your design in 3D with Augmented Reality, to see the difference between matte and gloss in 3D.

All of Popsa's paper stocks, inks and finishes are 100% biodegradable and recyclable.

Choosing the right finish for you

All Popsa products are manufactured in high-resolution (2400 dpi) finishes. The matte finish is our standard option. It's also more resistant to fingerprints, making it a popular choice for family photobooks. Our matte finish is made with a photographic stock sourced from recycled paper.

Our gloss finish is created using an upgraded, ultra-HD gloss technology, and is the more vibrant option. It will naturally boost colour saturation, and renders the sharpest possible results when printed.

Note If you include low resolution, blurry or dark photos, the sharper looking gloss finish will expose any imperfections. Always use your highest-quality photos when designing for print.
